The phase I of the free port includes the phase III of Beigangchi container terminals and the initial area of the logistics processing area. In the end of 2007, the 4km² of 6 container berths, logistics processing area, customs supervision and port office buildings will be built and put into operation, and realize the first phase customs closing of the East Free Port.

The phase III of Beigangchi container terminals locates at the southwest of the East Port, which will be invested and constructed by Tianjin Port Pacific International Container Terminal Co., Ltd.—a joint venture of Tianjin Port Stocks Co., Ltd. and PSA International, the first development project in the free port.

This joint venture has the main business of container loading and discharging, storage, safekeeping, stuffing and unstuffing. The total investment of the terminal is about RMB 6.6billion, the designed quay length is 2300m, the inland depth is 1050m, the terminal consists of 6 specialized container berths with designed terminal water depth of -16m and -18m in the future, the designed capacity of the terminal is 4million teus a year. The terminal will be put into operation in the end of 2007. After completion of this terminal, it can provide quality and high efficient service for the logistics and processing companies in the FreePort.Welcome the world famous container shipping companies to be here to develop the interrational transshipment and the ocean line trans portation.

The initial area of the logistics and processing area in the bonded port area covers 1.4million m², in the end of 2007, 400,000m² land will be developed into standard logistics storage and processing facilities. Those facilities will provide quality service to the well known companies and third party logistics companies.
