Tianjin
Port Pilot Station is an affiliated institution of Tianjin Port
Authority ，undertaking the
sovereign right of piloting foreign vessels and performing domestic
piloting and technical information consulting services. The station
has a registered staff of 58, among whom 43 are accredited pilots,
12 senior pilots, 21 class-I pilots, 8 class-II and 2 class-III.
This professional team consists of young, middle-aged and old-time
intelligent pilots graduating from marine universities. They are
qualified for piloting in the Tianjin Port area and piloting VLCC of
single mooring FPSO(Floating Storage Production and Offloading Unit)
in the Bohai Sea waters at complicated environment and climates.
Tianjin Port is a combination of sea ports and river ports.
The wide piloting area, long termination lines and complicated
hydrology make piloting very difficult, which need the pilots to
have strong sense of responsibility, solid professional knowledge
and rich experience. Recently Tianjin Port Pilot station increases
the devotion of the science and technology, the establishments and
equipments of piloting were ceaselessly renewed, joins effortfully
up with the international craft brother. Attempering pilotage has
computerized, D-GPS was introduced into the station, Office
Automation was came ture. The pilots of Tianjin Port Pilot station
have piloted 6800-TEU container vessel and Ultra-Pananma Canal
vessel times without number, it is new one of Tianjin Port Pilot
station history.
In 1989, Tianjin Port Pilot station undertook the piloting
VLCC of single mooring FPSO in the Bohai Sea water, which took the
lead of professional piloting in the world, created a history of
piloting in our county. This achievement was rewarded the Third
Prize of Scientific Progress by the Ministry of Communications of
China.By December, 2002, the station had successfully piloted 1856
vessel, winning a good reputation among foreign trade circles, and
creating an obvious economic and social benefit.
Tianjin Port Pilot station has constantly provided safe pilot
service in the past years, winning satisfaction and trust of ship
owners, cargo owners and customer institution.
